Historical Communities category

It is easy to start an intentional community which will last for a short while, end, and rapidly fade into history. Most intentional communities that have existed are probably undocumented, now unknown communities. Some historical intentional communities are extremely well known and, while no longer existing, had tremendous impact on many people’s lives – both within and around the community. Today, we can learn from their successes and their failures.

This is a list of Intentional Communities which no longer exist as living communities, but have reasonable documentation available on the web.
