Contact us at directory ( at ) ic ( dot ) org. NEW PRINT EDITION OF THE DIRECTORY. We are also beginning work on the next Fourth Edition print version of the Communities Directory. We will be using data collected at our online site and will be working on articles and layout in the coming months. Our target is to have the book out by LATE SPRING so we need every community to update their listing on directory.ic.org as soon as possible so their new information can be included in the book. _________________________________________________________________ 2 FEATURED BOOKSHELF TITLE at SALE PRICE by Catherine Nicosia, Community Bookshelf staff _________________________________________________________________ THE ART OF RITUAL Revised Edition Creating and Performing Ceremonies for Growth and Change by Renee Beck & Sydney Barbara Metrick 2003 * 201 pages Rituals mark life's momentous and symbolic events: from special birthdays and holidays to personal affairs such as a child's first day of school or the passing of a beloved pet. Over time, and as people and circumstance change, some rituals become merely habitual, losing their significance and creating a hunger for more meaningful methods of celebration. In The Art of Ritual, Renee Beck and Sydney Barbara Metrick explain the power, relevance and need for ritual. They describe the various types of rituals and their myths, symbols and history. This revised and updated version of what has become a classic book also includes a new healing ritual for small groups. There is a series of self-exploration exercises that assists with the integration of ritual into daily life. Presenting a multitude of ways to create your own ceremonies for healing, growth and change, the two authors will inspire you to honor each rite of passage in a truly personal way.
