1 VISIONS OF UTOPIA - TOUR 2002 & TAPE #2 by Geoph Kozeny

The last stop on my video promotional tour, held at the Ragtag
Cinema in Columbia, MO, was a huge success. Following a potluck
with members of the Terra Nova and Sunnyside communities, we all
migrated to the theater for the 7:00 PM screening. The show sold
out early, with a capacity crowd of 84 packing the theater, and
another 22 patrons elbow-to-elbow watching the show on the
monitor above the bar in the cafe out front. Several of the Terra
Novans passed their tickets to friends who hadn't made the cut,
and another gathering of seven folks carpooled back to Terra Nova
to enjoy a simultaneous screening on the community VCR.

Now I've migrated back to The Farm in Tennessee and have been
working to get my office and files set back up. By the weekend
of Jan 18 I hope to begin editing on the second tape, most of
which was already recorded when I was doing interviews for tape
#1.

Things have changed substantially at the Ganas (NYC) and
Goodenough (Seattle) communities over the past 18 months, so I'm
plotting to return to both to get additional updated footage.

Tape #1 is now being considered for inclusion in two film
festivals, one in the Puget Sound WA area and another in East
Lansing MI. Additionally, a fellow from Korea wants to
translate the tape into his native tongue and hopes to convince
his cohorts back home to help him finance distribution over
there. Lots of exciting possibilities pending ...

of rank and privilege. It helps us recognize abuse in many of its
forms. It assists readers in acknowledging anger, in both
ourselves and others. We learn that anger can be crippling and
yet ultimately used as a stepping stone to understanding. Best of
all, though, Sitting in the Fire helps us understand what's going
on, and gives us the tools to help ourselves grow. Highly

"A story... I was in college in Connecticut when I met Delancey:
a strong, big-boned, graceful woman, with a proud and open
carriage. When she left school to find work as an apprentice on
an organic farm in Maine, I was inspired by her example. A
semester later, I moved to Twin Oaks community in Louisa,
Virginia. We stayed in touch, and Delancey visited and joined
Twin Oaks the following fall.

Delancey suffered from bouts of severe depression. It is likely
that, had the membership of Twin Oaks understood their full
extent, she would not have been invited to join. Delancey had
already tried to kill herself several times, but she convinced
herself, and the membership team, that all that was behind her.
Eventually, however, everyone knew that she was depressed and
potentially suicidal."
