Central to this year's A of C vision is
Inspiring People
to Purposefully Engage in Place-Making. Featured speaker
Mark Lakeman
of City Repair Project in Portland, Oregon will share wisdom and
stories about
his involvement in strengthening sense of community via projects
which connect
people to place. For 15 years City Repair has worked to transform
neighborhoods
in accordance with locally cultivated visions of creativity,
community, and
sustainability.
Our lineup
of presenters this year is sure to inspire.
Connect directly through interactive workshops, presentations, and
activities,
and learn about concepts of living in community with each other and
our environment
with intention—essential ingredients for building resilient,
thriving
communities.
...and there's much more. For seasoned
communitarians —you
have space to share your pearls of wisdom and find out how others
living in
community have weathered challenges you may be facing. Casual and
facilitated
networking sessions create space where community minded folks can
celebrate
and connect around their shared values, strengthen collaborative
connections,
and strategize for growing the Communities Movement.
Check out our website for info on post-weekend special
program days
of workshop intensives and a gathering to discuss what it means to
call these
shared concepts about community a "Movement".
