Twin
Oaks Annual Intentional Communities Conference
Twin Oaks Communities Conference
August 31 - September 3, Louisa VA
An FIC co-sponsored event

A chance to network and learn about communal lifestyles—from co-housing and co-ops to communes and  ecovillages—at one of the best-known intentional communities in North America.

" Sharing is the key to a better world!"

If you live—or want to live—according to the ideals of sustainability, cooperation and equality, join us at the annual Twin Oaks Communities Conference this Labor Day Weekend.

Since we’ve moved the 2012 conference to a long weekend, we are making some exciting new additions to the event:

  • full day workshop on sociocracy, an efficient governance method for any community, organization or group. Led by Sheella Mierson and Ron Czecholinski of The Sociocracy Consulting Group on Monday, Sept. 3, for a small fee to conference attendees.
  • “Mock-upy” role-playing experience (also on Monday, Sept. 3) simulating an Occupy campaign. Led by conference organizers Joanna and Paxus, “Mock-upy” will allow conference attendees to put their new community-building skills to work in a fun, fast-paced environment.
  • Indoor Accommodation through nearby retreat center Sophia House.
  • Representation from the transition town movement, worker-owned businesses, resource-sharing cooperatives and more!
  • and much more
