A Unique Fellowship Sponsored Conference Gathering
Occidental, California

Now more than ever it's vitally important that we gather together to replenish ourselves with others who share the values of community and cooperation as essential ingredients in a THRIVING culture.

Art of Community is a participatory event which welcomes community seekers and representatives, community oriented organizations, and anyone who is committed to creating a community with intention wherever they are...

There are several options for how to plug in to Art of Community this year:

  • Pre-Conference Tours Fri. Sept 21
  • Main Conference Weekend Sept 21-23
  • Social Change Summit Sept 24-25
  • Workshop Intensive Mon. Sept 24: Worldwork Conflict Processes (based on the process work of Arnold Mindell)—facilitated by Carol Swann and India Harville
  • Workshop Intensive Mon & Tues Sept 24-25: Governance By Design—Organizing Ourselves to Get Things Done—facilitated by John Schinnerer
  • ...and much more!
Keynote speaker for the Social Change Summit: Alexander Laszlo, President of the International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS). He will open the Summit by sharing his thoughts on the importance of gathering to have conversations that matter, about futures that matter, at leverage points that matter such as exemplified by this event. This is the Art of Community--not just the discovery and sharing of knowledge, skills, and resources we offer each other, nor merely the act of coming together with a common purpose, but the co-creation that results from doing so with passion born of mutual inspiration. Occidental Arts and Ecology Center (Sowing Circle Community) Pre-Conference Community Tour.  OAEC is one of two nearby communities offering pre-conference tours. These tours are great opportunities to see intentional communities in person, to connect with members and ask questions, and to be inspired by the spaces people have nurtured cooperatively.  OAEC community gardent tour
