Three Day Event
Creating Sustainable Community Through Cooperation

Early Bird Registration Ends May 23

Come join us in celebrating the Art of Community through interactive workshops, presentations, cooperative games, and plenty of opportunities to network with representatives from various types of intentional communities as well as others who value living "in community" wherever they are.

Program highlights include:

  • A screening of the feature length documentary Within Reach: from 2008-2010, Mandy Creighton and Ryan Mlynarczyk bike-packed 6,500 miles around the US using solar-powered electronics and leg-powered bicycles to visit 100 sustainable communities and find a lifestyle more in line with their rapidly changing values.
  • Keynote speaker: Dr. Kevin Danaher from Global Exchange and the National Green Festival will be joining us to talk about building local, green economies from a grassroots level.
  • Learn about the Sharing Economy with Janelle Orsi of Sustainable Economies Law Center and author of The Sharing Solution, and participate in a workshop on creating community with Diana Leafe Christian, author of Creating a Life Together: Practical Tools to Grow Ecovillages and Intentional Communities.

And there's much much more!

The FIC has a long standing tradition of Art of Community events bringing together a wide range of communitarians and folks interested in living in a more cooperative culture to share ideas, knowledge, skills, and stories. This year's event promises to be a full and inspiring program of education, celebration, and connection!

FIC member, student, and group discounts available.

Art of Community is a cooperative effort and donations from $5 on up are lovingly appreciated and meaningful to us! See our website and click on the donation button on any page.

If you are interested in sponsoring a scholarship recipient for only $150 please email us: events@ic.org or call 313-444-CMTY (2689).
