the Date for Art of Community — Sept 23-25, 2011
The FIC has an exciting event planned for September 23-25 in
Occidental, CA
and we want to make sure you can be there!
Want to participate in an immersive experience celebrating community? Art of Community is a unique opportunity for people and organizations to educate and network for sustainability based on the values and practices of living in cooperative culture as a cornerstone of creating resilient communities. Participants will include members of many types of intentional communities (ecovillages, cohousing, urban coop houses, student coops, etc.), community seekers, students, community organizers, and people interested in the basic principles of living more cooperatively. We will learn about concepts of living "in community"- connecting directly through interactive workshops, presentations, and activities that demonstrate the ingredients essential for creating sustainable culture. Art of Community will be held at Westminster Woods, nestled in the coastal redwoods about 90 minutes north of San Francisco. The weekend will be a rich mix of skill building, interactive workshops, and celebration of living in community with intention. For more information contact Event Coordinator Susan Frank: events@ic.org or call the Art of Community hotline: 313-444-CMTY (2689). For additional event details regarding the program, presenters, information on Westminster Woods, to learn about how to be a sponsor, and more, visit www.artofcmty.com .
