Part of the FIC's vision is that community would be available to all who desire it. And yet, while many people desire more community in their lives, they don't all know that intentional communities even exist. I'm sure we could all tell a story of someone saying "I didn't know communities still existed, I thought they all fell apart in the 60s." Or you might have met someone who said "I've been dreaming for years of living a cooperative life with friends and just now found out that other people are doing it -- I thought I was alone in that desire?"

You can help spread the word and make Intentional Communities more well known.

One way that you can help us promote the concept of intentional community is through promoting the Intentional Communities website via social networking like Facebook, Twitter, and StumbleUpon. By sharing links to our site you help others find out about intentional community who otherwise might not have known that community living is alive and flourishing.

We've made it easy for your to share a page on our site by placing a Share link in the upper right hand corner of every page. When you click the link it opens a box where you can choose how you want to share the page you are on. You can choose to post a link on Facebook, StumbleUpon or Twitter or you can Email the link to a friend. You can also post a page on dozens of other sites or save it on various bookmarking systems so you cana find it later.

Facebook and StumbleUpon are now two of the most common ways for new people to find our site, outside of using search engines. Thousands of people each year find an article, or a community listing, or our homepage from a link on facebook or StumbleUpon.
