2010 National Cohousing Conference - Boulder
It's Not Too Late for Sustainability through Community
An FIC Co-Sponsored Event

June 18-20 Boulder, Colorado

Although registrations for next month's national cohousing conference have already topped 220, there's still room for you. The theme for this year's event will be Sustainability through Community and it will take place June 18-20 on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder, June 18-20, 2010. If you register before tomorrow June 1, you save $100 on your registration. Cohousing Conference YouTube video

You can check out highlights of last year's event by viewing this video clip.

The sustainability theme will be developed by four featured speakers:

  • Bill McKibben, author of Deep Economy
  • Dave Wann, author Reinventing Community and Superbia!
  • Chuck Durrett, authors of Cohousing, a contemporary approach to housing ourselves, and Senior Cohousing
  • Katie McCamant, co-author with Chuck on Cohousing

All of these book titles can be purchased through Community Bookshelf.

In addition, there will be over 60 workshops on topics covering everything from Getting the Work done to Poetry, Music, and Beer; from Retrofitting Toward Net-Zero Energy to Singing in Community.

In the two days leading up to the conference, people can enroll in "Coho-U," where five tracks of pre-conference study are offered:
  • Developing Cohousing: Soup to Nuts and a Few Lessons Learned
  • Growing Community: Head. Heart, and Hands
  • Research and Writers Workshop
  • Senior Cohousing Cohousing 2010 conference logo
  • Sustainability: Environmental + Economic + Cultural

Help Coho/US, FIC, and clear out your attic.

FIC is a sponsoring organization for this event and we will be running the conference bookstore and helping with the benefit auction Saturday evening. If you have a product or service you'd like to donate to the auction--proceeds will be split between Coho/US and FIC--get in touch and we'll help make your gift count:
