The Video That's Worth A Thousand Sales
by Laird Schaub, FIC Executive Secretary
As most of you know, we released Volume Two of Geoph Kozeny's Visions of Utopia documentary video last April.
What you may not know is that last year we sold over 1000 copies of both volumes
combined. While the new volume understandably outsold the first one 2:1, we nonetheless sold more copies of Volume One last year than in any other of the seven years it's been available—which is astounding.
Interest in community is up, and the availability of the complete two-volume set could not have come at a better time. If you don't yet have a copy, it's not too late! And we're still offering $10 off if you buy both volumes at the same time.
The second DVD is 124 minutes long and offers profiles of 10 contemporary communities in their own words:
- Catholic Worker's House of San Antonio (TX)
- Community Alternatives & Fraser Common Farm (BC)
- The Farm (TN)
- Ganas (NY)
- Goodenough (WA)
- Hearthaven (MO)
- Miccosukee Land Co-op (FL)
- N St Cohousing (CA)
- Remote Hamlet (CA)
- Sandhill Farm (MO)
This completes Geoph's magnum opus, and is the companion piece to Volume One (released in 2002), which features a 2500-year historical overview of intentional communities and profiles of seven contemporary groups.
As one of his last acts, Geoph asked us to pass this message along on his behalf: "In his memory, he asks that you put some intention and energy into making the world a better place for all." Giving copies of his video to friends and loved ones would be a great way to honor his request. Read more about the video here including a letter from Geoph Kozeny.
Both DVDs are available at our online store for $30 each plus shipping or you can buy the pair for a discounted price of $50. Be sure to get a copy of this unique visual introduction to the amazing breadth and depth of communities today!
