Putting Your Money Where Our Mouth Is
Consider Donation to Communities Magazine
by Laird Schaub, FIC Executive Secretary
FIC supporter Ron Miller cares a lot about community. He also cares a lot about alternative education. Seeing that those interests would intersect this June when the summer issue of Communities magazine will be on the theme of Education for Sustainability, we asked if he'd help underwrite that issue. Ron promptly pledged $2500, and pre-ordered 100 copies to give to friends and fellow travelers concerned with alternative education. Now that's support!
If we had backers like Ron for every issue of Communities, we'd enjoy black numbers at the end of the year instead of red ones. That's where you come in.
- The spring issue will focus on Family (now in the mail to subscribers).
- The summer issue will be on Education for Sustainability (June).
- The fall issue will cover Power and Empowerment (September).
- The winter issue will be on Elders (December).
Do any of these themes strike a resonant chord with you? Would you be willing to help
sweeten the pot with an earmarked donation in support of any of these four dynamic upcoming issues queued up for 2010? If you do, we'll be happy to mention your generosity in the Table of Contents of that issue (unless you prefer anonymity, or we're past the press deadline, in which case we'll toot your horn in the next issue).
Perhaps you'd be willing to pre-order copies that you could give to friends or groups that you think might benefit from our treatment of these vital topics?
If you pre-order 3-4 copies, we'll give you 25% off the cover price; if you order 5-9 copies we'll give you 30% off; if you want 10-24 copies you'll get 35% off, and for 25+ copies we'll give you a whopping 40% discount.
Please make your pledge online, or by phone or postal letter!
