the FIC's next Art of Community event
Community Building Day
May 16 near Philadelphia
An announcement from the event coordinator Ma'ikwe Schaub
Ludwig.
We'll be gathering on Saturday May 16th at the Camphill Kimberton Community near Philadelphia
PA for a special day of community, inspiration and
networking. 
In addition to being able to connect with kindred spirits from the region, here
are a few of the workshops you could enjoy:
- Consensus with the elder of
community-based consensus, Caroline Estes
- Special
Sessions focusing on two of the most exciting branches of
intentional communities:
Cohousing (with Betsy Morris of Berkeley
Cohousing) and
Ecovillages (with Ma'ikwe
Schaub Ludwig of Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage and
Ecovillage Design Education) plus a session on
Starting A
Residential Intentional Community with Ma'ikwe
- Several Sessions With
The Fic's Executive Secretary, Laird Schaub include: Should
I Start or Join a Community? and Conflict: Fight, Flight or Opportunity
- And for folks interesting in neighborhood organizing and
more casual creation of community wherever you are:
Guerilla
Community with Harvey Baker of the FIC
board.
We'll also be doing the first official showing at an FIC event of
Geoph Kozeny's second volume of Visions of Utopia video.
Stay into the evening for a banquet, casual networking time and a benefit
auction to support the work of the FIC. (You can also make
a donation to the auction by contacting Laird at laird - - ic.org
Tickets are available here.
Tickets are $50-100 sliding scale, with an early bird special of $45 if you
register by April 20th. Tickets include vegetarian lunch and
dinner.
