This land of meadows interspersed with trees, a small pond and a red rock arroyo is isolated at the end of a mesa with incredible views. We purchased the land in l995 with no structures or utilities. The current residents along with help from dozens of women in alternative buildiing workshops and apprentices have built four strawbale homes and 3 smaller passive solar homes, a round cob community structure and a sauna. Most structures have solar powered lights and all collect water for our gardens and trees. We will have paid off the land in the Fall of 2003. Throughout this period we have also had quite a few workshops on group dynamics for ourselves and other women's land communities. We are seven women between the ages of 41 and 61, most with intensive experiences living in rural settngs and being in women's groups. We are looking for more members. There is a six month provisional membership period for us to get to know one another. Come and join us and the coyotes and ravens. West Wind |
