Mission Statement:

Artist live/work community

Community Description:

These are architecturally designed, lofted, small single-family houses. They are built with SIPS panels, a high-insulation pre-fabricated panel system that can be constructed quickly and provides great strength and R-factor. The open living plan has a 20′-high ceiling in the main room. The houses have three small bedrooms; however, some of the two bedrooms in the loft have been changed to one open space. Houses have been engineered for solar power and may be fitted with a system later. The detached 800-sq-ft studios have 12′-high walls, a roll-up and regular door, around three windows and two skylights. Studios are about 13 to 25 feet from the house. There is gated parking for each house.

Each lot has space for a small patio, and the properties will pool their back sides to make a communal walkway and garden. We plan to open studios some of the time to become a destination for arts events, classes, and such. There is, however, a restriction about posting regular open hours.

Light rail is a three-minute walk, and there are bike trails into town through the Discovery Park area of the river front. Within walking distance there are coffee shops, galleries , a hardware store, library, tennis court, ball park, boxing, kung fu, and two little theatres. A new children’s gated “Tot Lot” just opened four blocks away.

Homes/studios may come open for sale or lease from time to time, email for information.
